The given table illustrates the relevant information about whether 6800 Scottish adults had taken part in various cultural activities in the past 12 months. Overall, it is evident that activities related to performance and crafts have the highest proportion in every age group.
The age group from 16 to 24 witnessed enthusiastic participation in almost any activity, with the percentage always remaining above 10%. This age group also included the largest proportion of participation in performance and art activities, with 35% and 30% respectively, almost doubled that of the 16-over age group.
25-44 adults seemed to divide equally into 4 sections, comprising performance activities, crafts, cultural purchases and visual arts. There were little differences in the percentage recorded in these cultural activities (22%,17%,17%,16%). By contrast, writing and computer-based activities transparently attracted fewer people, only 6% and 9% respectively. Additionally, this age group also showed the most similar trend compared to the trend of the overall age group.
The most elderly age group (from 45 to 74) marked a difference when had their highest proportion in crafts (22%) activities instead of performance (17%) like other groups. The 45-75 age group also recorded a considerable percentage of participation in cultural purchases and visual arts, as they were both above 10%. Conversely, the participants in writing and computer-based activities of this age group were at the bottom, with only 5% of participation recorded.
