The two tables present statistics regarding the sales and revenue generated by two electronic devices — laptops and smartphones — from five different regions. Overall, the purchasing trend for these products was similar, with Asia being the primary market for sales and Africa having the fewest products sold. Additionally, the revenue generated correlated with the number of sales, with smartphone revenue significantly surpassing that of laptops.
In terms of quantity sold, smartphones demonstrated higher sales throughout the year across all regions compared to laptops, with a difference of 200000 to 1700000 items varying by region. Asia exhibited the largest disparities, while Africa showed the smallest. Specifically, Asians purchased two and a half million smartphones, more than double the sales in North America, which had one and a fifth million. Europe followed closely with fewer than two thousand sales. South America and Africa showed the least interest in smartphones, with sales of five hundred thousand and three hundred thousand, respectively. Although a similar trend was observed in laptop sales, the numbers were significantly lower, with Asia leading at eight hundred thousand units sold, which is about one-third of the smartphone sales.
Regarding total revenue, most figures were closely related to the initial quantities sold. Asia generated the highest revenue, earning 1.25 billion dollars from smartphone sales and 560 million dollars from laptops. This trend was consistent across nearly all regions, where spending on products was proportional to revenue, except in Asia, where expenditure on smartphones was three times higher, but the revenue generated was only twice as much.
