This bar chart depicts variations in the total share of film premieres and the total share of ticket sales, in two periods, from 1996 to 2006 in one country.

Overall, both the proportion of category of film released and cinema ticket sales experienced an upward trend, except romance. While the percentage of drama was the most prominent film released, comedy generated highest revenue in field of saling ticket.

As for releasing films, comedy and fantasy started at 20% and approximately 12%, reaching 25% and more than 15% in that order. Drama considerably rose from roughly 25% to 35% in 2000, whereas romance remained stable at more than 5% throughout the period.

Regarding cinema ticket sale, there was a slight increase in drama and comedy; these proportions went up from 15% and 20% to around 16% and 23% after 4 years, respectively. In the meantime, the rate of fantasy doubled, but romance witnessed a five-fold decrease throughout time.
