The initial illustration displays modifications in the total number of people of New York City from 1800 to 2000. Moreover, the second and third picture illustrate changes in the population of the five districts of the city (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island) over the same time.
Overall, all five districts have increased in population in 2000. Manhattan has increased 19 percent in 2000, while the other disctricts have 81 percent of total population.
For all five districts the population in year 1800 was equivalent to 79,216. It grew to 3,437,202 in 1900. In 2000 it went up to 8,009,185. While the population in Manhattan is 60,515 in year 1800 that is a total of 76 percent. It increased more in 1900, which made the population 1,850,093. And in 2000 the population decreased with 1,538,098 people.
In 1800 the population of the five districts are sigificantly lower than Manhattan’s population in the same year. However, there population grew at 1.587,109 in year 1900 with 46 percent of total population. And in year 2000, has the highest recorded number of population with 6,471,089.
