The bar chart illustrates data from a number of students who are studying in a secondary school and their choice of four different foreign languages, such as French, German, Spanish and Italian between 2005 and 2015.
Overall, the percentage of students who study French and German demonstrates a slight decrease, while Spanish and Italian learner’s numbers have risen significantly since the start of the period.
According to the report, the percentage of students who are studying for French stood at 50%, before experiencing a dramatic drop in 2015 by 30%. Additionally, the number of German learners followed a similar falling trend. It is decreased from 30% to 25%.
In contrast, the percentage of students learning Spanish began the period at about 20% and showed considerable growth in 2015 by 40%. This is exactly the highest percentage among all languages. In 2005, Italian language has remained the lowest of the four, and this trend increased slightly by 5% in 2015.
