The three given pie charts provide comparison of the annual spending of a specific UK school acroos 5 categories – insurance, other workers’ salaries, resources, furniture and equipment, and teacher’s salaries in the years 1981, 1991, 2001.
It is clear from the graphs that school’s spending mostly went into the teacher salaries, taking up almost half of the total share, whereas insurance gained the least amount of spending, but had a gradual rise over the period given.
In all of the years, insurance remained the least valued factor, with 2%, 3%, and 8% in the years 1981, 1991, and 2001, respectively. In comparison, teacher’s salaries remained the biggest category of spending, sharing 40%, 50%, and 45% in all those years, respectively As regards to other workers salaries, it decreased moderately during the period, declining from 28% in 1981 to 22% in 1991. In 2001 it has gained its least amount of the spending, at 15%.
Resources and furniture and equipment got an equal share of spending in 1981, getting 15% each. However, in 1991, spending on furniture and equipment dropped to 5%, while resources were added 5% to its share, reaching 20%. Furthermore, in 2001, resorces experienced a significant decrease to 9%, whilst furniture and equipment increased to 23%.
