The map illustrates the development in Olympic and Paralympic village from 2000 to the present day. It can be observed that, over the years, a lot of buildings providing facilities to athletes, have taken over and trees have been cut down as compared to the year 2000, when most of it was an empty space with a few trees here and there, with the bare minimum essentials available all around.
In the year 2000, to the west of the river, a welcome center and a fitness center are situated. In contrast to present day where a medic center and a village square have been added. In addition to that, the car parking areas is also extended. Furthermore, over the years, one of the most noticeable development is the building of a bridge running from east to west, across the river.
While the eastern side of the river only had two athlete accommodations, one empty building and a parking lot twenty four years before. Now, multiple establishments have come up, such as disable athlete accommodation which replaced one of the athlete accommodations and two more of these were added, car parking area, which was moved from south to the north side of the path dividing the river and lastly a multi-faith center is built just below the disabled athlete accommodation.
