The two maps illustrate how the Olympic and Paralympic Village has developed from 2000 to the present.
Overall, a lot of modifications have been done and a number of infrastructures have been added in the present version of the village when compared to its previous counterpart. Roads connecting these developments have been built enhancing the connectivity in the village.
In 2000, the village just had a car park, a welcome centre and a fitness park on the west side, whereas now a media centre and a village square have been added. A road connecting both the east side and the west side has been built. In addition to this, the car park as well as the fitness centre have been extended.
On the east side of the village, an athlete accommodation centre has been changed to disabled athlete accommodation centre, and two extra athlete accommodation centres have been built in the south. A significant addition, which is a medical building, is added to the south side of the village. Currently the car park, which was in the south east of the village, is shifted to the north east. Additionally, a multi – faith centre is built on the south eastern side.
