The diagram shows two maps illustrating the changes happening in the Kingston University Hospital between two years (1990 and 2020).
Overall, there were several developments that were made in the area, starting from the infrastructure and public facilities offered. In addition, the empty lot for crops was no longer available, although some parts of the road remained the same.
Looking closely at the illustration, the northern part of the present map revealed that there was a significant expansion in the hospital building, expanding into two different buildings (for outpatients and inpatients), transforming the farmland that once was located in the north east. Furthermore, there were pathways added in between the two buildings, connecting them and making the access easier across the area.
Similarly, in the southern part of the map, the parking area for the hospital has also increased in size. The one that was once an entrance (public entry) and the first path leading to it remained the same, though there were new roads added and roundabouts were constructed in every intersection leading towards the parking lot. Lastly, another path for entry has been made in the southwest, besides the public entrance, specifically for an ambulance.
