The given two maps illustrate how Happy Valley Shopping Centre transformed between 1982 and 2012.

Overall, it is obvious that the centre underwent the expansion and relocation of amenities, showing that some places were replaced for these changes and parking area.

In 1982, the lake was easily found at the west side of the map, whereas the opposite side was dominated by the centre, which was connected to the pathway. Focusing on amenities, the electronics store was between the sports store and the furniture store, located in the northeast and the southeast of the building, respectively . Moreover, the identical arrangement for the coffee shop and the toilets applied to the west side. At the heart of the centre, there was an entertainment area, in front of the food store.

By 2012, the centre had been expanded for the relocation of the furniture retail, which necessitated the replacement of the lake. Furthermore, the road and the trees had been removed in order to construct a new parking lot. Regarding the sports store and the electronics store, they were rebuilt in the top of the centre, while the food store had been relocated where the old furniture store used to stand. The themed restaurant was also situated on the same side as the food store.
