The illustrated pie charts give a comparison of differences in the way British men and women were employed in 2010.
As observed, it is evident that men were more likely to be employed for managerial and other professional roles than women, while the majority of women outnumbered men in clerical and related jobs.
In 2010, men dominated significant job industries, mainly in managerial positions and other manual jobs. Nearly 40% of men hold positions for managerial and proffessional jobs while only one-fifth of women were employed for the same positions. Similalry, craft or similar jobs and were more appealing for men than women, with 21% of men getting the jobs compared to only 4.5% of women.
On the other hand, clerical and related jobs accounted for 36% of women, while only 5% of men were employed in those field. Additionally, other manual jobs and non-manual jobs saw a narrower gap between sexes, only 5% of differences exsiting between both of the industries.
