Overall,at the beginning of the period construction contributed the least to the income of Malaysia,while exports were the most significant income sector.Incomes became more logical over the period, with tourism increasing noticeably while the shares of petroleum and other incomes fell.
In 1995, exports accounted for the largest proportion at 50%, making them the main part of Malaysia’s income.Tourism was about 10% and petroleum around 30%,while the remaining 10% was made up of other incomes.
By 2015,the proportion of exports and petroleum dropped significantly to 45% and 25%,while tourism experienced an upward trend to 20%.Meanwhile,the amount of other incomes remained unchanged at 10%, showing no major shift.
