The given bar graph illustrates percentage of males and females in the UK who consume five or more portions of fruit and vegetables per day by age brackets in 2006.
Overall, the data illustrates that the consumption of five or more portions of fruits and vegetables patterns varied across different age groups as the individuals aged.
Individuals who were between the age category of 19-24 were the lowest consumer by 15% of male and almost 16% by females. Looking specifically at the adults from the age group between 25-34 to 45-54 a similar trends can be noticed accounting from 20% to almost 27%.
Notably, the 55-64 age group were the highest consumer where males and females both were more than 30%. While the second
highest consumption was by the age group of 65-74. In the age category of 75, the number of the male and female who consumed fruits and vegetables maintained an equilibrium by 25%. Lastly, it is interesting to see that the female outnumbered the male in the fruits and vegetable consumption in every age group with a notable exception in the age group of 75.
