The bar chart provided illustrates the percentage of men and women who consumed a necessary daily amount of fruit and vegetables in the UK in 2006. Overall, people between the ages of 55-64 led among others.
Regarding women who eat five or more portions of fruit and vegetables per day, the highest number is in the group of females of the age 55-64, which is almost 35%. It is followed by the next age group of 65-74, whose number is 30%, and the third place belongs to females older than 75 years old with 25%. The next positions took women of 45-54, 35-44, 25-34, and 19-24, respectively. Thus, it can be observed that in these age categories, the older women were, the more vegetables and fruit they consumed.
Similar statistics can be seen among men. Men aged 55-64 have a leading number, that is around 32%, followed by men of 65-74 years old with approximately 27% and men of 75 years old with the same number that women had, of 25%. The male tendency across the other ages is also the same as across females.
