The bar chart illustrates the proportion of both sexes in the United kingdom consuming five or more portions of fruit and vegetables each day divided by age group.
Women aged between 55-64 represent nearly 35% of those consuming sufficient fruits and vegetables whereas men belonging to the same ages were slightly less than 35%, making this age group the highest percentage overall. The 65-74 age bracket followed closely with almost 30% females and around 27% males. Geriatric people aged above 75 show exactly 25% for both the sexes.
In contrast, only about 15% of people were young adults for both men and women which makes them the least likely to consume a sufficient diet of fruits and vegetables. Women between the ages of 25-34 were over 20% while men belonging to the same age group represented exactly 20%. As for the population between the ages of 35-44 showed exactly 25% of women, which was the same as elderly people aged above 75. However, a slighltly less percentage at over 20% people of the age group were men.
Overall, middle aged people of both genders accounted for the highest percent of those eating sufficient portion of fruit and vegetables while youngsters represented the lowest percentage.
