The bar chart illustrates the quantity of boys and girls participating in six different sports in an English town in 2012.
Overall, it is clear from the graph that the number of boys were always higher than girls in any sports except badminton and swimming.
It is apparent that football was the most popular sport among the boys with 60 boys, while just over 20 girls played football. This was followed by tennis, with the figure of 50 boys, represented for the second popular sport. However, only 15 boys took part in hockey. Similarly, girls also participated in hockey with only 9 girls, knowing for the least popular sport among both boys and girls.
On the contrary, it can be seen that the number of girls swimming and playing badminton were higher than the boys, at 50 and 40, respectively. Meanwhile, the boys accounted for 40 boys and 30 boys took part in these two sports. In comparison to cycling, the boy had shown greater participation than the girls, accounting for approximately 36 boys while girls took part only 20 girls.
