Overall, Landfill remained the most used to way to dispose of waste in the three years 2005, 2006 and 2007, until 2008 when burning took over.
Garbage lots were highly used in 2005 with 1800 million tonnes. It significantly dropped to 1200 million tones in 2006 and continued descreasing until it stood at 600 million tonnes in 2008. Burning trash started at around 500 million tonnes in 2005, increased to 600 million tonnes in 2006 and the use of this process continued on growing until it reached roughly 900 million tonnes by the end of the time period.
As for the dumping at sea practice, it stood at 600 millions in 2005, went barely over that number in 2006 then went back to it in 2007. By 2008, it dropped to just under the initial valor.
