The diagram illustrates how the town in Australia harvest their rainwater and purifying it as convenient drinking water.
Overall, the process of obtaining the rainwater and carefully turning it into consumable water undergoes 4 stages such as collecting, filtering, storing and conditioning.
To serve it as pure drinking water, firstly every roof has water collecting pipes, which drain the water from the roof and send it to a water filtering tank which is located under the house. Now the water has entered the first stage of filtration, this helps in cleaning the water to some extent. After that, the second part of the process is to collect the water in a large storage tank.
Now comes the final purification, conditioning as the water is transported into large container in which the chemicals are induced into the water and slowly impurities like microbes and bacteria are destroyed. Finally, the run-off water has been recycled and redirected into houses.
