Overall, Ethanol production process consists in four stages: forest growing, harvesting, pre-processing and processing whereby the vegetal feedstock turns first into cellulose then in sugars to be treated by microorganisms. Also, the generation of Ethanol is part of the Co2 cycle.
Biofuel production is the result of four stages. The first three relate to the production of cellulose: growing the trees and plants, harvesting them and treating them through the pre-processing stage. The fourth involves processing the cellulose into sugars and then adding microbes that generates the ethanol.
Furthermore, as the image illustrates, Ethanol production is part of a sustainable carbon dioxide emissions cycle that reuses its own waste. Vegetation is processed to create a biofuel. Thereafter, the fuel is used by several consumers that releases new carbon dioxide gas. Among them, for instance, the engines of cars, trucks and even airplanes. Finally, the Co2 present in the atmosphere and the energy provided by the sun are used by the greenery to live and grow creating feedstock for new biofuel.
