The first graph illustrates the trend of electrical appliances used in house while the second line graph give information about weekly time used for housework between 1920 and 2019. Units are measured in percent.
Overall, home electrical devices like washing machine, refrigerator vacuum cleaner have been used more than previous years. Furthermore, the time spent in housework decreased year by year.
In detail, beginning of time there were vacuum cleaner and washing machine in 30% and 40% of houses while refrigerator which had most increase throughout the period was not been used at all. However, after 60 years, refrigerator was used in 100% of house in the country. A similar growth was observed in the case of vacuum cleaner. It also was seen achieving 100% in 2000. Although washing machine started to reduce in 1960, at the end of period it reached at 75%.
On the other hand, the second line graph, obviously shows people do not spend their time on housework. It had started from 50 hours to 10 in 99 years.
To sum up, both charts have show us there is a relation between them. In other words, the increasing of appliances which work with power helped people to do their housework. Thus, they did not spend more time on these home task.
