The maps demonstrate the changes to the zoo in Australia from 1960 to present day.
Overall, the zoo witnessed several major changes with the most noticeable being the modification of transportations, reorganisation of animal areas and the appearance of a cable car and new entrances.
Looking at the east of the maps, the picnic area has remained unchanged, while a new cable car has been built in the left of the picnic area which runs along from the north to the south. There are two new entrances built in the south and the north of the map. The harbour previously laid in the northeast of the map, relocated in the northwest. Furthermore, a ferry service has been constructed at the north of the map. Meanwhile, both the size and position of the gift shop in the south of the map has remained unchanged in this period.
Turning to the animal zones, the Australian animal area in the west of the map has always stayed the same. Meanwhile, the northwest area of the map which belonged to African animals has been replaced by wild animals. Meanwhile, African animals have been moved to the centre of the map. In addition, the seal show area has been moved from the northeast to the position to the right of African animals, replacing informer the Chimpanzees section in the past. The final change has removed the bird zone, which was previously located in the northeast of the map.
