The number of persons who received UK citizenship as well as their origin has been depicted by a line chart and a bar graph from 1996 to 2002. The data has been calibrated in thousands.

Overall, it is noticeable that, Asia recorded highest immigrants to the United Kingdom, whereas it was lowest in terms of America, Australia and others. Conversely, there was a significant increase in the number of UK citizens over the period.

According to the details, in 1962, there were about 20,000 permanent residents in United kingdom .Afterwards, it peaked to 40,000 in a period of 10 years. Surprisingly, till 1992 , the natives number dropped by 10,000 and then soared to 1,20,000 from 1992 to 2002.
