THE TWO MAPS ILLUSTRATE HOW THE COASTAL TOWN OF PELLAND HAS DEVELOPED BETWEEN 1950 AND 2007.

OVERALL, IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE COASTAL TOWN WAS IMPROVED AND MADE LARGER COMPARED TO 1950. WHILE SOME PARTS, LIKE INDUSTRIAL AREA, CARPARK AND GRASSLAND, CHANGED TO ANOTHER SECTIONS, NEW AREAS SUCH AS SHOPS, HOUSES, CINEMA, PARK AND SWIMMING POOL WERE ADDED. THE ROADS WAS ALSO EXPANDED. THESE CHANGES SHOW THAT THE TOWN WAS UPDATED TO SERVE MORE RESIDENTS AND PROVIDE BETTER OPPORTUNITIES.

IN 1950, THE URBAN AREA HAD A SIMPLE LAYOUT. THE NORTHERN COASTLINE FACED THE SEA, WITH AN INDUSTRIAL AREA LOCATED TO THE WEST NEAR THE SHORE. A LARGE AREA OF GRASSLAND OCCUPIED THE SOUTHWESTERN PART OF THE TOWN, WHILE CAR PARK WAS LOCATED SLIGHTLY TO THE NORTH OF IT, END OF THE ROAD.

IN 2007, THE TOWN CENTRE WAS EXPANDED AND REDESIGNED. THE SEA WAS REPLACED BY A YACHT MARINA, AND A PARK WAS ESTABLISHED ON THE NORTHWEST COAST. THE INDUSTRIAL AREA WAS REMOVED, MAKING PLACE FOR LEISURE FACILITIES, SUCH AS SWIMMING POOL AND A MULTI-STOREY CAR PARK. THE GRASSLAND LOCATED IN SOUTH WAS REPLACED WITH CINEMA AND HOUSES. ADDITIONALLY, THE NORTHERN PART OF THE TOWN WAS CHANGED INTO A ZONE WITH MANY SHOPS AND APARTMENTS.
