The pie charts present comprehensive data on production of electricity using fuel sources in two countries, namely Australia and France in the years, 2000 and 1980.
Overall, it can be seen that in Australia , hydro power was the predominant source for production of electricity. Whereas, France exhibited a holistic approach to production in the year 1980 which then shifted to nuclear power in 2000. Both countries demonstrated a substantial increase in total units generated.
Hydro power was the key source for production in Australia during 1980 with 50 percent unit generated off the total, which continued to be the predominant one in 2000 with 130 units out of 170 total. Conversely oil and natural gas saw a dramatic decrease in utility from 20 and 10 units respectively to 2 units each later on while use of coal remained the same. The total production almost doubled from 100 to 170 units.
On the other hand, France utilized all sectors effectively with coal and natural gas being the maximum -that is 25 units each and hydro power being the least preferred with a mere 5 units generation. Conversely, they shifted their focus to nuclear energy in 2000,, wherein 126 units were generated from 180 total units. Following the trend on total production, France doubled its producing from 90 units to 180 units.
