Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m a long term resident in the Military trail. I’m writing this letter to express to you my opposition to the proposed closure of the children’s playground situated on the Neilson St. and I also want to suggest how the play area might be improved for the benefit of the local children’s.
It is correct that the local children of this area has not been utilizing the playground. The reason behind is because the play area has been poorly maintained and there are not much play facilities that could excite children to visit the park. Furthermore, there are only 2 swings, the foot area of the slides is muddy and the climbing frames are full of rust. Parents get worried for the health of their children’s and hence they do not allow them to play in the park.
As we know nowadays technology and other form of digital gadgets have been taking over traditional Games and plays of the children. Therefore, if the local council close the playground it will be another reason for children’s to not play outside.
I have few suggestions on how the park could be improved for the local residents. Firstly, the local council could install few more recreational facilities, secondly, the rusty equipment’s could be replaced with more sustainable options, and lastly, muddy area could be replaced by grass and flowers which will also enhance the beauty of the play area. Doing such could be a great investment in our children’s well-being which will lead to their bright future.
Yours faithfully,
Sapna
