The bar chart illustrates the percentage of people in different age groups accessing daily news from three types of media in one country in 2011.
Overall, using radio to get daily news was the most popular way in most age groups except for the 10-17 age bracket. In addition, micro-blogging was not as popular as the others in all age groups in 2011.
The percentage of people using radio to access daily in the 30-49 and 50-64 age groups was the highest, at about 95%. This is closely followed by the 18-29 age group and 65+ age group, at 94% and 88%, respectively while the figure for those aged from 10 to 17 was much lower, at only 40%. Regarding the use of social networking, the percentage for the 10-17 and 18-29 age groups contributed equally, at 80%. In contrast, the proportion of people in the 30-49, 50-64 and 65+ age groups were significantly lower, at 45%, 33% and 10%, respectively.
Using micro-blogging was more popular in the 18-29 age group than other age groups, at 25%, followed by the 10-17 and 30-49 age brackets, at 20% and 13% correspondingly. While the percentage for the elderly was only 2%, the figure for the 50-64 age group was much higher, at 8% in 2011.
