Dear ……,
I have heard that you are carrying out a project about celebrating New Year in different countries and am willing to introduce you about my country’s New Year celebration. New Year is an very important date for us, as it says goodbye to an old year and marks a brand new year is coming. Moreover, people in my hometown believes that we need to highly value it and fully prepare it so we can leave all the bad things in the past and welcome good luck in the future.
Celebrating New Year starts from preparation of foods. Since everyone will take a day off and reunion with their family, people need to have meat, vegetables and so on stocked before it comes. At the day, people will make dumplings from scratch together while chatting about anecodotes among the year. Sometimes they even make some dumplings with a coin to remark good luck. It’s like a happiness lottery and I like it so much. Besides, children will play fire crackers together to get monsters representing bad lucks away.
As you can see from above, it’s very happy and I like it so much. Not only because it is interesting, but also I like its atmosphere that playing and chatting with my family. Everyone get a chance to meet their cherish loved ones, which spreads happiness everywhere.
So this is how my country celebrating New Year and why I like it. Hope these pieces of information could help you with your project
