Dear Jack,
I am writing in regards to help in your college project by providing important information about celebrating new year in my country.
As you know, I live in India and mostly people are celebrate new year as per Hindu calendar. There is no specific date but generally new year is coming in October or November. It is very precisely marked in our country and people believe that it is a new beginning so they start a new goal or life.
On the new year day, people meet their family, friends, and relatives to get blessing and go to the temple to get blessing from god. People also do some social work being a socially weak person or helping activity such as helping poor family. Apart from that, they touch the feet of the older people such as mother, father, and others to get blessing. Mostly family members celebrate together and eat some sweet (Indian sweets).
I like the most about the new year is to celebrate this new beginning together and receive the blessing because it gives another level of energy in the mind and also gives the boost to start the and achieve the goals.
Your friend,
John
