The graphs provided depict the relationship between temperatures of six months, Januray through June of 2012, and purchasing bathing suits in New York.
Overall, the highest temperatures were recorded in April, however, the largest generated revenue from bathing suits’ sales was reported to be in June.
In the first three months of the year, temperatures steadily rose from 20 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. During the same period, it is noted that bathing suits’ sales increased from around 150 thousand US dollars to slightly less than 200 thousands.
In the second three months of 2012, the temerature peaked in April, hitting around just below 60 degrees, before significantly dropping to below 10 degrees in May. Conversly, the peak of bathing suit revenue was achieved in June at approximately 350 thousand US dollars. In April, the sales were only 250 thousands, increasing to around 300 thousands in May. These values show that there is a minor correlation between temperatures and bathing suits’ sales.
