The given maps illustrate the current layout of the center of a small city called Islip,and the proposed plan for its development. A noticable feature in the given maps is the modernization that the city is planned to undergo, whereby a new facilities will be constructed to statisfy the needs of the residents, in addition to more organized carriageway.
Firt of all, the existing shops on the northern side of the road will be demolished in order to be replaced with a modern shopping centre, a new parking area, and a bus station. Those three facilities will be located west of the new housing area, which will be connected to the main carrigeway through a short driveway. However, the shops which are south of the main road will not be removed, but the main road itself will be accessed by pedestrains only, while the dual carrigeway will be available for cars and other vehicles. Morevoer, the countryside will be removed to accommodate the previously mentioned facilities.
In addition to the northern housing area, another housing complex will be built just west of the current park, whose area will be reduced to less than the half. Additionally, houses that exist south of the current shops will be relocated to the western-south of the city, and to the southern side of the new circular road. The school location will not be changed, but its area will be slightly increased.
