In general, the village underwent several significant changes over 80 years. Key alterations include the replacement of farmland with accommodations and the transformation of a large house into a retirement home. By contrast, both the bridge and post office remained unchanged
In 1930, Stokeford was largely rural, with most of the surrounding land used for farming. On the western side of the village, just above the primary school, there were two shops and a large post office situated among houses. Adjacent to the primary school, The large house, set in a wide garden, was a notable landmark in the village
By 2010, substantial residential development had taken place. Much of the farmland was replaced by housing, and additional roads were constructed to provide access to the new residential areas. While the primary school extended slightly, the garden shrank substantially and the large house turned into accommodation for the elderly. In addition, two shops was also removed to make space for residential purposes. Despite these alterations, the post office and bridge remained the same.
