The two maps below illustrate the changes in the village of Stokeford between 1930 and 2010. Stokeford became more residential in 2010, farmland and gardens were replaced by houses.
In 1930, Stokeford was a small village with several facilities. For instance, areas of farmland placed on the right side of the River Stroke, there were also two shops near the post office along the road. In the center of the village placed a primary school, gardens and a large house were situated nearly. There was a bridge that crossed the River Stroke, it stood in the north of the village.
By 2010, the Strokeford became more bustling than it was. All farmlands and shops removed and had been replaced by residential complexes. The large house and gardens were converted into retirement home, while post office remained how it was. Primary school became bigger but stayed in the same location as 80 years ago. Furthermore, the bridge and river were unchanged throughout the whole period.
