Dear Sir/Madam,

The reason for this epistle is to request a leave from class for the next 15 days. I have an urgent affair to attend due to which I am traveling back to India. Hopefully, I would be granted a leave from class and would have you assistance in the work I miss out on.

The reason behind my absence is because my grand mother is in serious condition and her last wish is to be with me. That si why i am travelling to India. Hopefully you will be able to understand this grave situation.

I am expecting that I will be returning within 2 weeks, but I am not certain at the moment, and I will keep you posted. As this is an family urgent matter, i wont be able to complete assignments on its due dates, however, if given chance i will complete all the tasks once I am back before exams. I assure you that I wont be an extra burden on you.

I will be grateful for your assistance in this matter.
