Dear Chioma,
I hope this letter finds you and Ike well. I’m writing to invite you to a significant celebration: my 30th birthday, which I’m marking with a family gathering in Ghana on April 19th. This is a momentous occasion, and as my sister, your presence would mean the world to me. Coincidentally, we’ll also be celebrating Mum’s 60th birthday, as we share the same birthdate. The event will be a small, intimate affair with close family and friends.
To facilitate everyone’s comfort and ease, I’ve secured a large villa for the duration of the celebrations, from April 18th onwards. This will provide private accommodation for each guest, complete with bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. The birthday dinner will be held in the villa’s garden on the 19th, commencing at 6 PM. The dress code is black tie, with no restrictions on colour choices. I’d appreciate your prompt response to confirm your attendance so that I can finalise arrangements.
Your presence is crucial to me. Given our geographically dispersed family, such gatherings are rare opportunities to reconnect and celebrate together. Several other family members are travelling significant distances to attend – Uncle Amu and Sade from America, Uzo from Spain, and Chinedu from Italy. Your absence would be greatly missed. Beyond the festivities, I’m at a crossroads in my life and would cherish your support and guidance.
This invitation naturally extends to Ike. He’s become a cherished part of our family. Please let me know your decision at your earliest convenience. I look forward to hearing from you soon and celebrating with you both.
With warmest regards,
Amy
