Dear Samantha,

I hope you are doing well. I am really sorry for damaging a camera and not returning it on time.

I know I promised to return it same as it is, but I dropped it down while I was in my London trip. I was taking picture of my friends while someone pushed me forward and I fell forward because I wasn’t able to maintain my balance. In order to prevent my face from hitting the floor, I used my hand to protect a fall and camera fell off from my hand at that time.

I tried to write letter many times to let you know about it but I couldn’t gather enough courage. I researched day and night to find out how to fix it. Yesterday, I found a store which is ready to fix it at certain cost in a week. So, once it is fixed, I’ll be back to meet you in person and hand over your camera. You can check it’s functioning and if you think it’s not fixed, we can discuss about other solutions as well.

Hoping to catch up with you in a week and send my warmest greetings to your mother.
