Band 6+: You have just finished your master's degree and need to leave your current part-time job to search for full-time employment. Write a letter to your current employer. In your letter ● explain why you will not pursue a full-time job in his/her company ● say why you've enjoyed working for him/her ● tell him/her how much longer you will continue to work for him/her. Begin your letter as follows: Dear ___________,

Note: Both the topic and the answer were created by one of our users.

Dear Mr. Smith,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I have graduated in a master’s of computer science, and I will not be able to continue working for you.

I wish I could work full time in your company, but I have to leave because I have been living away from my parents for five years, and my hometown, Bengaluru, is a new IT hub of India. There are many reputable international companies where I will get a chance to work with international clients.

I really enjoyed working for you. Because of you, I learned a lot of new things that I did not know before joining the office. The work environment is not toxic like other places, and all the other team members are really helpful and co-operative.

I will continue working until the 15th of April because I have an interview scheduled on the 17th of April, and if I miss that, I will lose a chance to work for my dream company. Moreover, my assistant will be ready to take over my duties by that time before I leave the company.

Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Yours sincerely,

Yuvraj Singh
