Dear Annie,

I hope you are well. I’m writing to you to apologisefor not being present at David’s holy communion last Saturday.

Oliver and I were down with the flu two days prior to the party. I brought him to the doctor and since then we had to remain indoors. It was extremely bad for me, as it flaired up my tonsilitis. I could barely injest anything down.

Anyways, I hope the get- together was a success and your mum can be off your back, now that finally David’s is done with the church ceremony.

On my side I’ll be take some much needed vacation days next month. I would like to invite you guys to spend a day at the newly renovated Avanie Hotel. My friend Jane, works there as the assitant manager; she is offering us a 20% discount on our total bill if we book in advance. This will be my treat to you and David. The boys can enjoy the pool and we can catch up with the latest tea. Kindly confirm which weekend, will be optimal on your side.

Hope too hear from you within this week, so I can do an early reservation.
