Dear Charlotte,

I am writing to apologize for been absent at your birthday party on 12th October.

I am sincerely sorry for not attending the party; heck, I really tried my best to be there but lately things have been quite hectic at work and I currently don’t even have time for myself.

So I just got promoted last month, and to be honest this new position came with more workload, stress and countless sleepless nights. On the 12th of October, I was called up for a critical meeting involving regional stakeholders. Before we could round up it was far to late and well into the night and I was unable to attend your party.

To make up for my absentee, I have decided to get us tickets for the new Lion King movie as I know you loved the movie trailer so much.

Please accept my apologies once again.
