Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to complain about my unsatisfactory experience with my current room arrangement, which is mainly brought about by my roommate’s behavior and practices.
One of the dormitory rules states that students should be mindful of their roommates; however, my roommate habitually listens to loud music when she studies and talks loudly on the phone with her family and friends during her free time. This makes it challenging for me to focus on my own work and get enough rest. I am in the middle of writing my thesis in Psychology, and this requires concentration and attention to detail, or I could end up not comprehending data from the participants and come up with a completely wrong interpretation for the whole study. Getting a sound sleep has been difficult for me as well, since she usually makes phone calls late in the evening until early in the morning on most days of the week. I tried reaching out to my roommate about my concern, but she just told me to bear with it and insisted that we all have our own ways of coping with college.
I want a peaceful room that allows me to pursue my studies and get the rest that I need. I request that you send my roommate a letter reminding her of the dormitory’s rules and the consequences that come with consistently going against them.
I look forward to your favorable response to this complaint and request. Thank you very much.
Respectfully yours,
Chittenden Josephine Aguirre
