Hi Alex,
I hope everything’s going well on your end. I just wanted to tell you about this amazing workshop I went to last weekend—I immediately thought you’d appreciate hearing about it.
It was a two-day photography workshop led by James Porter, who’s actually a well-known travel photographer. He’s shot for National Geographic and a bunch of other magazines. He was so down-to-earth and had tons of stories about shooting in crazy locations all over the world.
One of the best parts was the hands-on practice. He took us out to the local park and showed us how to use natural light better—like really seeing how the light changes throughout the day and using shadows creatively. I also learned new composition techniques that made a huge difference in my photos. It was so cool to get instant feedback from him too.
Another great experience was meeting other photography enthusiasts. We all shared our work and gave each other tips. I even met someone who wants to plan a photo walk in the city next month—I think I’ll join.
I’m so excited to use what I learned. I’m planning to do a personal project where I document everyday street life here and really try to apply those new techniques. I feel way more confident now, and honestly just inspired to keep improving.
Next time there’s something like this, you have to come with me. It would be so much fun to do together. Let’s catch up soon—I’d love to tell you more about it in person.
Take care,Nathan
