I am writing to express my intention to volunteer at your upcoming fundraising and outreach event for Typhoon Yolanda victims. I saw your advertisement in our local newspaper, and I was deeply moved by your mission to help our countrymen who had a difficult time during the recent flooding.
I am a community center staff member, and I have always been passionate about joining causes that aim to help the needy. Some of the more recent community efforts that I took part in are medical missions for the elderly, a garage sale to collect money for indigent students, and clearing operations to prevent flooding in local areas.
My previous volunteering experiences and genuine passion for helping people have helped me learn brainstorming and collaboration skills that can be beneficial both during the planning period and on the fundraising event day itself. I have also made some relevant connections with other community center volunteers and food and drinks suppliers, who are also willing to help in every way that they can. I will be delighted to share my time and knowledge to plan effective strategies that will help make the fundraising event more appealing to the public. Once we have already collected the money to buy the supplies for the flood victims, I am also willing to extend my aid in shopping for their needs, packaging, and distributing the supplies to them.
