Overall, Turkey spend its money mostly on food and the least on energy, at first. Over the period, the trends showed a decline in leisure, transport, energy, particularly on food exhibited a drastic decline until 2000. In constrast, Turkey’s spending on clothing increasing over time in the same period.
In 1960, Turkey spent its money mostly on food for about 35% and strated decreasing to around 33%, in 1970 and plumetted to 15% in 2000. Meanwhile, energy (5%) and leisure (20%) shared similar trends that showing incremental decrease over the same period to around 2% and 3%, respectively.
On the other hand, turkey’s spending on food gradually increased in 1960 from just under 10% to around 17% in 2000. as a result, it overtook the expenses on leisure and food, making it into the first place in 2000, followed by spending of food on the second place and leisure on the third.
