The line graph shows the percentage of people who took part in four different leisure activities from 2000 to 2020. The bar chart shows how many hours people from three age groups spent on these activities in 2020.
Overall, the number of people who went hiking increased over the years, while reading and visiting the cinema both became less popular. Playing video games stayed almost the same. In 2020, young people spent the most time playing video games, while older people spent more time reading.
In 2000, about 45% of people did reading, but this dropped to under 20% in 2020. Hiking was only 5% in 2000, but it went up steadily and reached about 38% by 2020. The percentage of people going to the cinema also fell, from around 25% to below 10%. Playing video games stayed around 15% over the years.
In 2020, people aged 16-24 spent the most time on video games (about 5.5 hours), and the least on hiking and cinema (both under 3 hours). People aged 25-44 spent similar time on all activities (around 2.5 to 3.5 hours). The 45-64 age group spent the most time reading (4 hours) and the least on cinema and video games.
