Dear Chris,
Hope you’re doing well! It was great to hear from you after so long. I am so happy that you’re finally taking a much needed break from your busy schedule to relax. During my last vacation, I have had a great time in British Columbia, and I will recommend you the same. It’s a beautiful place with scenic views; you’ll feel surrounded by mountains all the time.
I was in British Columbia for about a week, and I decided to stay on the outskirts of the main city, Vancouver. This allowed me travelling to hiking areas with ease. I booked an Airbnb in Surrey, which was about 50 kilometres away from the main downtown area. Towards the east, it was about 80 kilometres to mountains. So, I think it was an appropriate middle point to reside. I covered many places, the Stanley Park, University of British Columbia, Granville Island, and Victoria Street, to name a few.
Keep one day separately for Stanley Park, it is spread over 2 kilometres, and I had to explore it on a bicycle. When in downtown, you can cover Victoria Street and Granville Island, along with trying some popular restaurants like Industria, East Side Mario’s, and Vesuvio. All these are amazing for your love of Italian cuisine. Last but not least, you should visit the university, it has a great campus, and try their local Indo-Chinese restaurant, The Hakka Club.
I hope this helps you create your itinerary! Have a safe trip, and enjoy your time there.
Best wishes,
Nonna
