Firstly, it’s noticable that tourism has increased popularity among 2 out of 3 countries’ citizens by 2005 while backpacking has remained the most popular way to travel regardless.
Looking closer at the statictics it’s clear that the UK and the US travelers in Australia have increased their number throughout the displayed timelene from 800,000 in 1995 to around 1,500,000 in 2005 in case of the UK and from approximately 500,000 to 1,500,000 in the US.
However, the number of travelers from Japan has plummeted from over 1,4000,000 of visitors to roughly 1,000,000.
On one hand backpacking being the most preferred way to travel had its rises and falls visible in the chart peaking with almost 2,500,000 tourists in 2000 and decreasing to barely more than 1,000,000 in 2005. On the orher hand staying at the resort has gradually increased from less than 500,000 in 1995 to slightly more than 1,000,000 in 2005.
