The line graph illustrates journeys made in Great Britain in three transit systems named National rail network, London Underground and Light rail& metro systems, based on millions of passengers, from 1950 to 2004/5.

Overall, an upward trend was observed in the total amount of public transports. Nationl rail network topping the wnd of the period, followed by Londen Underground and metro systems & light rail by 2004/5. Of particular note is the gap between London Underground and Natioanal rail network, which was significantly sider in 1950, while it was consideraly narrower by 2004 – 2005.

Starting at 1000 mllion passengers, National rail network saw its figured fall to around 670 millions, followed further increase to approximately 1050 millions of passengers. London Undergraund have experienced a peiod of stability until the 1970, then declined to 500 millions and growed furhter to just under the 1000 millions.

Light rail & metro system had also the same value of passanger until 1980 and then plummeted from 0.2 millions ti a mere 200 millions of passangers.
