Overall, it is clear that the total number of people visiting the island significantly increased over the period of eight years. In addition, some visitors stayed on cruise ships, while others opted to accommodate on the island.

In 2010, the number of tourists staying on cruise vessels was about 0.25 million, whilst the figure for those who stayed on the island was nearly 0.75 million, adding up to 1 million in total. Over the next five years, the figure for cruise ship visitors rose steadily, reaching a peak of 1.5 million. Similarly, that of island visitors saw a dramatic rise to approximately 1.25 million. After 2015, the number of tourists on the island continued to surge, surpassing ships dwellers and peaking at 2 million in 2017. By contrast, the figure for people staying on the island fell slightly in 2016 before reaching its 2015 level in the final year. Meanwhile, the total number of visitors rose considerably, hitting a peak of 3.5 million at the end of the period.
