The bar chart depicts the percentage of households in various income groups in a European country who have internet connection between 2005 and 2015.
Overall, internet access has increased considerably across all socioeconomic categories for over the last ten years. However, the data clearly shows a positive association between income level and internet access in both years, with high-income households using the internet the most.
In 2005, just about 5% of low-income households had access to the internet. This figure increased significantly to around 8% in 2015. High-income households, on the other hand, had significantly greater access, rising from approximately 82% in 2005 to over 90% in 2015.
Internet connectivity among the lower-middle income group increased from approximately 17% in 2005 to 27% in 2015. The middle-income group also experienced a significant increase, with access rates rising from 42% to 53% over the same time period. Similarly, upper-middle-income households saw their access increase from around 65% to 72%.
