The two potential sites for the supermarket (S) are depicted by the map of the town of Garlsdon below.
Overall, the two sites were positioned far apart from each other, one was in the outer area, while the other was in the town centre, but still in the same town, Garlsdon with 65,000 of population.
The first possible site was located in the countryside, which is shown by the white colored area on the map. This site was in between the railway and the main road, extending for about 12 km from the town centre, heading to Hindon with about 10,000 people lived there.
Located in the town centre, the second choice site was also passed through by the railway. The town centre was surrounded with housing area and connected the three main roads; the Hindon in the northwest, 16 km to Bransdon in the southwest with 15,000 of population, and 25 km to Cransdon in the southeast with 29,000 of population. In addition, this site was also close to the industrial area in the southern area.
