It is evident that criminals in the UK range from individuals as young as 12 years old to those who are in their 60s. Last year, there were as many as approximately 5000 people at the age of 12 years old who contributed to the overall wrongdoings. This number increased significantly for teenagers at the age of 16 and reached its peak for those at the age of 20, with 80,000 illegal acts conducted. The number decreased steadily for individuals in the age group of 24 and plummeted at 28 years old. Furthermore, individuals in the age bracket of 32 to 60 commit less crimes than their younger counterparts.
Violent crime is the most popular one (46%), followed by property crime and drug crime with 23% and 22% respectively. And 9% of the misdemeanors conducted by lawbreakers are related to public order.
